Swimming Pool Costs in Cincinnati: How Much Do They Really Cost?

So the big question gets answered, how much does it cost to install a swimming pool in Cincinnati? A quick answer would be the average is between $80k to $150k, but then what kind of pool are you needing?

Gunite Pools (concrete):

Pros: great for large (40ft+ x 25ft+) or unique shapes

Cons: longest construction time 8 weeks+, needs acid washing every 4-5 years, & replastering every 10-15 years (breaks down to $158/month)

Vinyl Liner Pools:

Pros: great for large shapes like gunite, the most cost effective,

Cons: vinyl liner has to be replaced every 5-10 years, and concrete base requires same maintenance as gunite pools (breaks down to $109/month)

Fiberglass Pools:

Pros: quick installation time (less than a week), unique shapes, models with spa and tanning ledges, often come with a 50 year structural warranty

Cons: Smaller than 45ft x 20ft, gel coat last 30 to 40 years (breaks down to $27/month)

Resin Sand & Natural Pools:

Pros: Limitless shapes and unique designs, quick installation(10-20 days), beach paradise in your backyard

Cons: Resin sand top coat reapplication every 2-4 years (breaks down to $83/ month)

But there is a lot more to that answer than just the cost of the pool.

For instance, what kind of work has to be done in order to prepare for your pool? Is your yard level or sloped? Depending on your answer, you might need a retaining wall or significant excavation to make the site favorable for a pool. Sometimes it can be an opportunity to create a unique space

What about access to the site? Can equipment move in and out of the site easily to bring the materials we need? Does your project require a crane?

We haven't even covered the finishing touches yet. Do you want a heater? Auto feed chlorinator or Salt chlorinator? Sand filter or Cartridge filter? What about the pool decking, do you want concrete? Pavers? Porcelain? Do you want an equipment or pool house?

Are you a person that wants instant gratification with sod to finish the project? Or maybe you don't mind grass seed and straw for a little bit.

Depending on how you answer these questions and personal preferences is what can make a pool that is usually $80k with normal installation go up to $100,000 or more.
